The Epilepsy Center of the Universitätsklinikum Erlangen is one of the epilepsy centers of the highest care level (Grade IV Center), along with a few other institutions in Germany, and offers comprehensive diagnostics and therapy for epilepsies and other seizure disorders, including presurgical epilepsy evaluation and epilepsy surgery.

The treatment focus is on the diagnosis and therapy of intractable epilepsies. Due to the university structure of the Epilepsy Center, state-of-the-art procedures are available for all diagnostic and therapeutic processes. This includes drugs even before market approval, intraoperative MRI, and a large outpatient clinic for vagal nerve stimulation.

Patients from far beyond the Erlangen-Nuremberg metropolitan region and from abroad benefit from the treatment competence in all areas of epileptology.
